Super Silly Scientists 

SUPER Silly Scientists is a class for students to conduct experiments in a fun and engaging way.  This is a twist on our classic Silly Science class.  This quarter, the students become the silly scientists, and we add theater and drama to our most crazy experiments yet!  Our goal is for students to walk away with an excitement and interest in science. We foster an environment for students to release a lot of energy through movement and play.  At the end of the lesson, students are excited to tell others what they have learned, and they want to learn more about the world of science. 

 

Students will learn about the scientific method when conducting experiments.  They will learn about the water cycle, body systems, organs, electricity, volcanoes, and more! 

 

A typical class would begin with a warm up activity to help the kids turn into Silly Scientists and solve a problem.  Perhaps, our instructor is having a bad hair day, and to help him feel better, we will all use static electricity to give us all bad hair days.  Now that the professor isn’t worried about his hair, we may go on a hunt around the classroom, finding any items that are electrical.  After learning about the various ways to use electricity to power our devices, we would move into the main experiment.
